Happy Anni

It's has been a journey...
8 years ago, we took the plunge into another level in our relationship which we are not sure of the rocky road ahead of us. There are disbelievers initially but we proved them wrong, we shown them despite marrying young, we are serious about each other. Tough but we made it in the end and these disbelievers are today our best supporters. I must say these tough times made us stronger together.

14 years of relationship, 8 years of marriage later, with another kid coming on our way, you have never hide your luv...thank you for being the man (almost) i want you to be...

We have our ups and downs, we fought over petty stuffs but never once our feelings were swayed in the wrong direction and I pray we'll remain this way.

I have never once doubt the passion we have together, the goals we want to achieve on and the way we agreed to spend our life till we can't anymore.

To me, you are my best friend, someone whom i know will forever agree and support me. Words can't describe all ...and you know it...

Happy 8th Year Anniverary....i luv u.....

Out of MIND!!

There are 2 kinds of women (or more) in this world. One is those who love when their partner shower them with expensive gifts and the other is those who frown. I belonged to the latter version, wierd???
That's why they said women are unpredictable. For me, i might always grumble and silently admired those women who are constantly showered with expensive gifts but when i'm given one, i'll felt sad and heartpain. That's how i felt last nite...
He came home and said that he got a surprise for me - which i took as an excuse so he can escape washing the dishes, until he showed me the box. He said since i have given him an expensive advance birthday present and the Bali trip is more like a family trip rather than my birthday gift, that's why he decided to get this gift which i can use physically rather than on memory. I appreciate his thoughfulness but to me, materialistic items are not realistic. I prefer security than appearance, hard to understand? Meaning i rather him to keep the cash as a backup rather than spending it, even on me.
Whenever he have that extra dough, he will, without thinking, spent it on me. When we were dating, he sold some of his foreign currency notes from his collection to get my first & last Swatch watch. Last 2 years, he bought me a OSIM UZap for no reason. I'll think twice if i'm going to spending hundreds even for someone close to me. Perhaps he's more generous and i'm more stingy??
To him, it's his way of expressing his love and wanting me to have the best. I know and glad but i'm a more realistic person and rather to have a fat bank account than to have a house of branded items. I can see he's upset that i'm not pleased with his choice of gift but sorry i can't hide my feelings - so i told him this'll be the last and expensive gift, well...beside the diamond ring i wanted for our 10th anniversary, which he can start saving now.

PS: Thanks B for the gift, i really appreciate this but this's really not necessary, maybe it's your passion for watches, this's like the 5th watch you bought for me....anyway we had an agreement and now i'm awaiting for my diamond bling?? Hee...luv ya...

Goodbye, for now

The news i dreaded most came through this morning, Ah Meow has passed on peacefully last night at 8pm.

Everyone will say it's ok that she has gone peacefully, she has stayed with us long enough or she's just a cat etc. It's never that kind of questions that will make me cry for them, i just felt that they are not loved much enough and live the life they should deserve.
I still regret leaving the house with my belongings when i got married 7 years ago, it's like abandoning your kids and yet i can't bring them (4 to be exact) with me as Hub had a terrible sensitive nose. Till now he still get sinus and bad flu whenever he steps in to my mum's place.

Only God knows how heavy my guilt is and how much i love them. Caging them at home alone does not mean love. If i have the ability, i'll give them a better life.

I'm the only person who initiated the vaccination jabs, bathe them, clean their ears, cut their nails, gave them supplements with Omega 3 oil, fed them with chicken breast. But all these actions are still not enough to cure the guilt i had it for years. Everytime after visiting them, my heart weighed heavily...

********************

Ah Meow

I am sorry that i can't be with you when you left.

You know how much all these mean to me.

Thank you for the joy all these years. Thank you for accompanying me while i finished my shorthand homework and by sleeping on my textbooks. Thank you for sleeping close to me on my pillow when i'm alone in the house. Thank you for being the only cat who will settle your 'business' in the toilet.

Thank you for your unique character and your constant requests for us to pat you hard on your back (so sadist right), i remember how you luv it when i pat it hard, sometimes a little too hard and you will give me a warning bite. Ouch!! I still love you even with your obessive licking and throwing out fur ball in the end. These are the memories that make me laugh and cry when i sat in my kitchen looking at your photo yesterday.

Thank you for changing my mind on cats and realising the best things about loving a pet. i hope i have done it with you. i'll treasure all the good memories we have. I hope God will put you in his safe arms at his paradise and i'm sure we'll meet again one day. In the meantime, please keep the rest of the clan safe and healthy.

I miss you, Jackie & Garfield. How i wish i'm back to the days when we first met, first played, first kissed........

The weird thing about human is that they regret only after the joy that has been taken from them...and they never learn.....

Luv, jie

Surprise!!!

At 3pm
My phone rang, it's my receptionist:

R: You have a flower bouquet here, do you want to collect or ask the man to send it down?
Me: Are you sure?? There are many Sharon(s) here.
R: Are you Sharon Txx Cxxxx Cxxxx and your mobile no 9xxxxxxxx??
Me: Yes! But who will send it to me?? (*still in doubt*), what occasion ah?

When i got the bouquet 5 mins later, i saw the note on the card and can't stop smiling....

A lovely surprise from my man, i didn't expect to make it up...a month later!! Seriously, i don't fancy flowers as they are costly and wither fast, i usually prefer to be treated to a nice dinner or given a nice present. But i kinda like this surprise this time, after the last bouquet given 4 years ago (though it's my own confession that i don't like bouquet).
Woman will be woman, we are contradicting in nature, don't we?? Or just me?? Hee...i won't mind such romantic gesture once in a while.

Thank you, my man...for making my day...for reminding me that we still have that passionate love even after 13 years together...for being such a sweetheart with those words...i'm really touched beyond words...

just try not to make me angry that often ok???

Last but not least....i want to post a super cute photo of my gal..who has inherited the vain-ness genes from us...

Don't she look like Twiggy?? hee...

1st luv SOLD

1.....2.....GONE.....

my house ('her') is gone...just like in an auction when the hammer went down hard on the table, that's how my heart feels right now.
crushed & shattered to pieces..
I have already previously stated that I'm not 100% willing to let go but for the sake of my family, I have to let her go.
Don't ask me how much i have made from this transaction as no amount can justify the love i had for her...5 years of peaceful living, 5 years of beautiful scenery & serenity, 5 years of fond memories...
my friend said 'have to let go wholeheartedly' and my sister replied 'first love is always hard to let go'....it's sooo true!!
It's my first matrimony house after all, a place we have worked hard to buy, argued & fought over the design and where we can walk around the house in the dark with peace...that her beauty...for that i have to make sure the next owners love you like i do.
So long 638...

Mid Autumn & Birthday Lurve

MOONCAKES
What does Mid Autumn Festival means??? Besides lantern and moon grazing. Though officially ended yesterday, it means MOONCAKES and more mooncakes. Plenty of mooncakes but only a handful of them are halal. I remembered vividly that I never fancy mooncakes when i was young, i will only take the baked skin and pass the whole lotus paste filling to my grandma. HahHahaa...bad me....and snowskin mooncakes only make their debut years later and everyone loves snowskin for it's cooling taste.
After tasting Polar's exorbitant snowskin mooncake, i have given up in finding a 'real' chinese mooncake. Then came along Prima Deli (2nd halal bakery here), i risked my $7+ for a piece of red bean baked skin mooncake. YUCKS!! Hard and totally no taste except the red bean paste.
All hopes were not lost UNTIL my colleague introduced me to Amway Baked Skin Mooncakes. I was skeptical initially as Amway is popular for their housecleaning detergent, LOC and not for food. I went ahead and purchase as they are even cheaper than the local bakery here.
4 different flavours only costs $29, SUPER CHEAP!!! where to find such price now and 4 different flavours and it's HALAL!!! I bought the Four Season collection which consists of White Lotus (reduced sugar), Flaky Skin White Lotus with Yolk, Green Tea & Red Bean and Golden Chestnut (reduced sugar). Behold....it's sooooo good that i can't described. It's soft, nice fragrance of baked skin, authentic and aren't dry at all. Soooo good that i have already consumed 2 boxes of it, ALONE!!! Even my chinese colleagues are buying in bulk ok!
Heard that Amway sold more than thousands of mooncakes yearly and even if you are rich, when the stocks are gone, it is gone!! I'm going to grab 3 boxes next year!!

Sorry, that's all i snapped as I forgotten to take the contents. Too busy consuming them.
Imagine my happiness (to the max) when Hub's colleague (thank you!!!) gave him a box of durian snowskin mooncakes few days later! That's what life is supposed to be, enjoyment of the best food. D24 durian puree in cold and chewy snowskin. Yummy!!
They have a branch in taka
In fact i'm eating them as i'm typing these now
BIRTHDAYS (today and belated)

Today is the birthday of my dearest, irritating and farty bro in law. Happy Birthday!!! May you have bashful of hair happiness eternally. As usual with the tradition which started in August, we made a card for him!!! Same photo frame cum birthday card as sop's.

Her masterpiece

I spelled, she write and she draw. So cute right???

Granny's belated
We brought my granny to T3 for a tour and birthday dinner. She hasn't been to the airport for many years and since it's her birthday....we headed to Earle Swensens for dinner, i warned them that the prices there are different from Swensens and food aren't that great and we end up with $200+ bill for a meal that got everyone complaining about.

On our way to Changi Airport T3 - the sunshine babes

What we gobbled on- BBQ Chicken (so-so), Seafood Pasta (which my granny luved)

and Lobster Baked Rice (no taste of cheese at all)

The attendees

Birthday gal, she's so adorable right?? I mean my granny, she's already 93 years old!!

My dramatic gal

Happy Anniversary!!

HAPPY 6TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

6 years ago this particular day, I signed a lifetime contract with the son of Adam and thank god the marriage is still blissful. Also known as "Iron Wedding Anniversary", 6 years of living together aren't a smooth sailing. We do have our ups and downs but at the end of the day, what's more important is that we can't live without each other.

Being together for a total of 12 years, we know each other shortcomings and temper. This does help in the marriage life too...i just hope there are many more years to come when we will live to walk hand in hand to the park with our white hair and wrinkled face. ;p

PS: I did an DIY ice cream cake for him and you can find this recipe HERE.

Garfield - one month later

/*Garfield - one month later*/

It has been a month since you left us and the pain of losing still lingers around. It's doesn't matter if you have been for a month or a year, we can never get over the fact that you are gone. Last night, jie jie and us are talking about you and your manja-ness, it's nice remembering the time we spent together smelling your feet, kissing your cold wet nose and fiddling with your whiskers. It's easier now to talk about you but we are still feeling the heavy heart feeling, it's was as if someone throw a bottle of acid on our hearts. The sad part is that you probably will still be here if not for mummy's rash decision on your health.
You left a huge impact on our hearts~

Goodbye Garfield

Dear Garfield,

Nobody can understand how I really feel about losing you, how much I really luv you or how much I really care and think about you. Even I left home 5 years ago, I have never stopped caring for you.

10 over years ago. you started my interest in cats making me learn to love an animal like my own child. Because of you, I started to understand and sympathise a stray cat and understand how to deal with a non-cat lover. Like a true pet owner, I started to buy litterbox, toys, cat nips and bring you and Ah Meow for sterilisation and vaccination. Even with the additional of 3 cats later, you are still one of my favourite prince because you are special and unusual:

- You curl up like a prawn when you sleep
- You like to sit like a ah pek with your legs open widely.

- You are never interested in our food but you like to eat durian while the rest of the cats flee for their life.

- You prefer dry food than wet food and sometimes you rather eat Jackie’s biscuits.

- You were once catnapped by the boys staying above our unit and was missing for 1 whole day BUT you managed to escaped with a green nylon rope on your neck.

- You always wanted to run out of the house whenever there’s a chance. So I let you out when I realised that you are able to return after a few hours.

- Whenever you forgotten to return home, I would go and search for you with a cane. Not to cane you but to rattle it against the stair railing and this sound will attract your attention. Before i can even see you, I can already hear the tingling bell on your collar.

- There’s one night when I can’t find you even after hours of looking for you, we walk down from floor to floor and even went to the opposite block but still unable to find you. Was about to give up hope when I saw you sitting on the drain rail in the dark behind the block. You responded with a meow when you saw me and I couldn’t stop crying when I saw your hind leg got stuck on the rail. After sending you to the hospital, the veterinarian said that you had a deep cut on your chin (probably a fight with a tomcat) and a fractured thigh (probably a knock from a reversing car).

- You lost weight after the accident and didn’t gain any back even after years later. You are the reigning king of the house UNTIL a stray tomcat came up to our unit and causes a fight between you and Browny. After that incident, we have to separate the both of you as Browny are still chasing and attacking you.

- You are the coolest cat on the block, unless you are in a good mood if not you’ll never respond when we call for you.
- You like to walk like a model on the parapet which almost give me a heart attack as we are staying on the 10th floor BUT you’ll shiver when I carry you near the parapet.

- You rather drink your water at the big basin in the bathroom than the bowl that was allocated to you in the kitchen.

- You won the Best Tail Award at the Cat Show and the ang moh Judge said that this is first time he had seen such a special tail.

- You competed with 100 cats (including pedigrees) and won the 10th place during the Annual Cat Show and we have to bring home 2 heavy hampers home that day.

I can’t stop feeling guilty towards you, guilty of leaving you, guilty of not putting more attention on you, guilty of not visiting you often..guilt...guilt…guilt…My heart has been pulled down by the anchor of guilt. I still can’t forgive myself to see you going off in that condition and putting you in the hospital for a week. I know you hate staying there especially when the nurses kept poking with needles till your hands swell and the constant barking of the dogs. When the doc diagnosed that all your organs are failing and you are not responding to the new medicines, we knew there’re not much hope left but I remained optimistic. We all cried ourselves to sleep and begging God to take you out of suffering. The last thing we want is to see you suffer and struggle to breathe.

The night before you left, you looked alert. When I carried you, you struggled to lift up your head and tries to adjust into a comfortable position. I thought, there’s some hope…although a part of me is still not too sure. I should have stay with you but I kept thinking you are looking better and probably are reacting well to the medicines. Until 6 am on 11 April 2007, you took your last breathe while sleeping with Mummy. Even on the way to Mummy’s hse, I can’t stop holding back my tears in the train because it’s has really happened. You…have left us…..Holding your body for the last time, memories of you kept flooding my mind. I hold your body close to mine and kissing you until the nurse took you away forever.

Losing you is a great loss and painful for us but seeing you in this condition, we are happy that you are no longer suffering. At least now you are in a better & bigger place than before, with Allah and His angels. I’ll not cry for your loss anymore but will be crying because I know you are happier now….

I love you..

Missing you badly…
