All bad timing

she does not look like a patient at all. Relax seh!

During one of her 'smoking' session

Awww... i am so tired.... Eili starts having fever again. Gosh, not again!!! She has been taking medicines for 2 weeks even before CNY. I pitied my child on the amount of medicines which have been loading into her body these few weeks. Firstly, it was the gum infection, then cough and running nose followed by fever and running nose. It was only Friday that we decided to bring her to the pediatrician. Her fever still didn't subside, it has been yoyo-ed up and down since wed night and she has been complaining to us about the pain in her ears.
We went around 8.30 and a long queue has already been formed outside the pediatrician's clinic. After consultation with Dr Lim, she told us that Eili has ear infection of which her left ear is the most serious. Addition to that, she had bronchitis which means massive amount of phlegm in her lungs and that’s affecting her airflow. Dr Lim advised that we should admit her to Mt Alvernia Hospital on the very day to clear her lungs as her condition will worsen within the next 2 days. Dr Lim also told us that luckily Eili has been jabbed with pneumococal vaccine earlier if not her condition will be even more serious than now. So parents, please ensure your kids are protected with the latest vaccines and well covered with hospital insurance, it’ll definitely ease your mind and bank account. Phew…

We reached Mt Alvernia around noon and upon checking in, Eili was given salbutamol medicine through nebulizer (apparatus for inhaling). The nurse in charge told us that Eili will be given nebulizer around the clock every 3 hours. Gosh, there goes my sleep! Initially this gal is afraid of the nebulizer, probably because of the mask lah, but after a few tries she know that the nurse will keep coming back to her room and let her ‘smoke’. That’s what she said, “Nurse give Eiliyah smoke”.
Hahaha…Thank god Eili doesn’t have to be dripped and she has been jumping on her hospital bed while watching cartoons like she’s in holiday. She doesn’t look like a sick person at all!!! The nurse came and took some blood for testing and confirmed that Eili has contracted mycoplasma bacteria. Dr Lim told us that this is quite a notorious bacteria and currently there’s no vaccine for such bacteria.
My poor baby….Did I really make a wrong decision by sending her to school and exposing her to such bacteria??? Kids their age are still building their immune system and catching a bacteria is inevitable??? Why are there all kinds of bacteria these days when hygience level are supposely to be better?? We didn't get all these nonsense bacteria when we were young and we can even played by the longkang all day!!

For now, her lungs are clear except for some balance phlegm on her nasal other than that she has been given clearance by the doc to attend school tomorrow. Tomorrow another day at the bacteria-infested school, sigh…now all I can hope is for her to be healthier and no more such cases again…insya’allah

CNY celebration at LV

My little gal had a ball of fun when her school invited all parents to participate in their CNY celebration on 23 Feb 07. I didn't want to miss her 1st celebration in school so i took half day leave just to be with her and see the rest of her classmates.

Aren't they all look so innocent and sweet?

Eili & her BFF, Nuryn.
Yes they fight and make up fast like every other BFF does.

Planting her kiss on Nuryn's cheeks.
Her way of showing affection. ;p

Eili's classmates - Phoebe & Theresa

Oh, we won 1st prize in the parent/child competition.

Putting melon seeds on a chinese character and since our character is the easiest, we WON! It was fun to mingle with the kids but I'm not sure if i can last another 1 hour with them. Kudos to all teachers who have so much patience for the hyperactive toddlers and their yakking mouths!
