My top 10 fav movies

These are my favourite movies, which means I could watch 10 times in a row and I will still like it. I prefer true story inspired movies, which means I could imagine and grappled at the fact that this scenario has actually happened before.

Not in any particular order:

1. CITY OF GOD - True story. A peep into the brazilian way of living in the poorer part of Rio de Janeiro.
Plot: Two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer.

2. CHICAGO - A half musical half movie. This is much better than moulin rouge.
Plot: Murderesses Velma Kelly (a chanteuse and tease who killed her husband and
sister after finding them in bed together)and Roxie Hart (Who killed her boyfriend when she discovered he wasn't going to make her a star) find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago.

3. DOWN WITH LOVE - You might thought this is another kind of love stuck comedy show, nah, this story is full of twists, especially the ending. I love the 60's outfits and settings. Witty Renee Zellweger and dashing Ewan McGregor totally bowled me over.

Plot: it's New York City in 1962, and love is blooming between a journalist (McGregor) and a feminist advice author (Zellweger), who's falling head over heels despite her beau's playboy lifestyle

4. AN AMERICAN TAIL - My childhood favourite. Always in tears even after watching it umpteen times. "Somewhere out there" was a lullaby to me at that time.
Plot: While emigrating to the United States, a young Russian mouse gets seperated from his family and must relocate them while trying to survive in a new country.

5. BOYS DON'T CRY - It was mindblowing show. Hillary Swank is so terrific in this role, she absolutely look "butch" in this movie.
Plot: The story of the life of Teena Brandon, a cross dressing youth who preferred life in her male identity as Brandon Teena.

6. FORREST GUMP - Who can forget the famous quote: My mama say "Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you going to get". It was a mixture of laughter and tears show. One of the best Tom Hanks' movies.
Plot: while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny, eludes him.

7. LORD OF THE RINGS - Who else in this century could produce such movies that brings us to the world of elfs, hobbits and doomdead, like Peter Jackson did?? No one, I guess. 99.9% saw the movies before they actually knew that books have already been published in 1978.
Plot: In a small village in the Shire a young Hobbit named Frodo has been entrusted with an ancient Ring. Now he must embark on an Epic quest to the Cracks of Doom in order to destroy it.

8. MONSTER - I felt very disturbed after watching it, contemplating whether this Aileen brought death to herself or is she a victim of depression?

Plot: Based on the life of Aileen Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who became a serial killer.

9. SELENA - I LOVE this movie!! Jennifer Lopez should won an award for this. She looks so alike and Jon Seda is such a looker. Other than that, she's a lousy actor.
Plot: The true story of Selena Quintanilla-Perez, a Texas born tejano singer who rose from cult status to performing at the Astrodome, as well as having chart topping albums on the Latin music charts.

10. TITANIC - Who doesn't know this movie ought to be executed. This movie make me cry in the theatre for the first time and used up 2 packets of tissue papers.
Plot: Fictional romantic tale of a rich girl and poor boy who meet on the ill-fated voyage of the 'unsinkable' ship.
